The Rustomjee Group and MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) are proud to announce their association. Rustomjee will now be the prime sponsor for MDFA for a period of five years.
The Association’s league will be renamed as the “Rustomjee Football League”. Each of the 7 Divisions of the MDFA and any other additional division that may be instituted would also be renamed by Rustomjee as per their discretion and choice. The league matches will be held across Mumbai at various grounds that are affiliated with the MDFA which include the football ground in Cooperage, St. Xavier’s Sports Complex football ground at Parel, Mumbai Football Arena in Andheri and Neville D’Souza ground at Bandra amongst others. Rustomjee will be free to conduct any promotional activities at these matches.
One of the first events which will be held under the aegis of this association is the YPL (Yuva President League) tournament which starts on 15th August 2018 and then will be played on 18th August 2018 and culminate on 26th January 2019 (a Sunday to Sunday event). The matches will be played at the Cooperage Ground and will include boys teams in the Under 16,14,12,10,8 age categories and girls teams in the Under 16 age category. A total of 100 teams have registered for the YPL till date in the Under 14 and Under 16 categories.

Mumbai District Football Association , the sole organizing body of all football activities in this city of Mumbai and its suburbs, is established in the year 1984 with its registered office at St. Xaviers ground, Parel. Initially there were only sixty (60) teams playing in the three division league which has slowly turned into 375 teams with five division leagues (men) and women League within a span of 34 years. At present MDFA League matches are conducted at Cooperage, St Xaviers’ Ground (Parel), MSSA, Mumbai Football Arena ( Andheri), Goan SA Ground (Cross Maidan) and Karnataka SA ground (Cross Maidan). From the last year onwards MDFA has started Youth League U-16, U-14, and U-12 Boys, which was a great success. This year MDFA has taken a great leap by deciding to organize Youth President League (YPL) for boys & girls and an additional Baby League U-10 and U-8 years. MDFA has also developed a ground allotted by MHADA at Bandra Reclamation which will be astro-turf and is expected to be ready in another month. MDFA- now under the dynamic leadership of Shri. Aaditya Thackarey, is going ahead with various projects in a bigger way, which are present in the roadmap of the organization.
