The exquisitely landscaped garden and manicured lawns at Rustomjee Elements were the perfect setting for the Art to Art event held here. Residents as well as those interested in experiencing life at Elements participated in the event which saw over a 100 kids and adults enjoying a chance to get their creative streak on.
The tiny tots – from 2 to 5 years of age enjoyed a special story telling session about ‘Rainbow Colours’ and as a special treat were also given a copy of the story to take home. It was amazing to watch their rapt concentration as they tried their hand at stone art and textile art. The older children got the opportunity to express their creativity with canvas, stone and textile art. While the adults also took enthusiastically to making artworks with stone and block printing techniques, they were particularly interested in workshop on doodling where they could delve into the meaning of doodles and what their handwriting says about them. Live music by the artists of NSPA lent a very relaxed and fun vibe to the evening.
Art and the process of creating it have always been rather cathartic. The artist immerses and loses himself in the forms and colours as his vision takes life in the form of an artistic composition. Not all of us may be very talented when it comes to art, but we can all benefit from it and it works especially well as a de-stressor; more than the skill and the end result it’s all about enjoying the process. This is precisely what the ‘My Space’ concept at Rustomjee Elements aims to achieve – give the residents the opportunity to tune of, get unplugged from the demands of daily routine and have the space to follow their interests and hobbies.
