‘Eventful’ would be one way of describing Sunday, 11th March 2018, at the Leon’s World Centre for Holistic Development and Learning. With children’s theatre and special workshops and activities planned as a part of the continuing Women’s Day celebrations, it was definitely a memorable Sunday for all those who attended.
The play that was staged, as a part of the Leon’s World initiative to introduce children to the joys of live theatre, was The Secret Biryani Recipe. It was a story of resilience and hard work which showed the strength of the characters in the face of extreme hardships. Presented by Secret Passages, they also had a special ‘story harvest’ after the play which enabled the children to connect with each other and carry the message of the play.
The ladies, who attended the grooming workshop by Shebany Moro, were amazed by the simple steps that she demonstrated which could bring about such a great change in their aura and personality. As one of the participants said, “I never realized that I was choosing the wrong styles for my body structure, with Shebany’s tips I now know how to tweak my wardrobe to my advantage. The makeup and accessorizing fundamentals that she spoke about are so essential to the way we present ourselves. This workshop has definitely been a confidence booster for me.”
For the women who were considering career options while also balancing the home front, the Work Readiness Interactive Counter conducted by Qween – gave them many options to think about and consider for their future.
