Leon’s World Centre for Holistic Learning and Development continues to bring new and interesting theatre experiences for the children and on the 11th of March, there is a special staging of the play The Secret Biryani Recipe.
Presented by The Secret Passages storytellers, The Secret Biryani Recipe, is a part of their nurturing nature series. The story is based in a small town Ratanpur where Ammi lives happily with her two daughters Rehana and Farida. She makes delicious biryani with her special Shifa Peshammi’s recipe. Suddenly, the town is hit by an earthquake Ammi loses her memory. The girls have no home to live in, no food to eat and nothing they can identify as their own.
At this juncture they are faced with the choice to either stand on their feet or succumb to failure and despair. They choose to work hard and after several trials and errors, they manage to recreate the same recipe of their mother’s delicious biryani. They help their Ammi get her memory back and start growing their catering business.
There will be a special ‘story harvest’ after the play with activities that create mindfulness and enable the children to connect with each other and carry the message of the play.
